People love to vacation near the Great Smoky Mountains at all times of the year. Throughout the year Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and the surrounding areas offer a variety of different activities for vacationers to enjoy while they are here to relax and getaway with friends and family. Here is a list of the area events for you and your group to enjoy while on vacation in East Tennessee. 

Dollywood’s Harvest Festival

September 27th, 2019 – November 2nd, 2019

Dollywood’s Harvest Festival presented by Humana provides fabulous fall family fun with the new Smoky Mountain tradition, Dollywood’s Great Pumpkin LumiNights. Dollywood stays open until 9pm every evening allowing families more time to enjoy the glow of thousands of carved pumpkins throughout the park.

Apple Butter

Enjoy quilt demonstrations, a petting zoo, train rides for the children, basket making and a lot of other fun activities. See what daily living was like in the 18th century. You can also expect to learn how to make lye soup and yummy apple butter! Other activities for the kids include bingo, arts & crafts and pumpkin painting. 

Rotary Club Crafts Festival

September 28th, 2019 – October 26th, 2019

Visitors to our area can visit the big red tent at the Pigeon Forge Rotary Club Crafts Festival. You have the chance to purchase handmade items from some of best artisans in the Great Smoky Mountain area. Admission is free, but they do take donations thate will benefit local charities during the festival.

Women of Joy

October 4th, 2019 – October 6th, 2019

Join thousands of women as they come together for Women of Joy at LeConte Convention Center in Downtown Pigeon Forge. Musical guests include Plumb & Michael W. Smith. Numerous guest speakers will be in town such as Lisa Harper, Sheila Walsh, Angie Smith and Margaret Feinberg.

Fall Smoky Mtn Trout Tournament

You do not want to miss out on the Fall Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament if you are an avid fisherman. No matter if you are an adult, child, local our visitor to the Smoky Mountain, you enjoy this event. Over 5,000 trout will be stocked over 20 miles of mountain streams for this event. There is $10,000 in cash for prizes. 

Celebrators Conference

October 21st, 2019 – October 24th, 2019

Tim Tebow is going to be the guest speak at this year’s Celebrators Conference in Downtown Pigeon Forge. This event will take place at the LeConte Center. It is a yearly event meant to encourage believers to take on leadership roles. Past guest speakers have included Phil Waldrep and George W. Bush. 

Pigeon Forge Spooktacular Event

October 24th, 2019

The Pigeon Forge Community Center hosts a safe, family friendly event each year for locals and tourists both. It is also a non-scary event for families to go trick or treating. Local businesses will be on hand offering candy and some will have fun displays that include games. 

Premier Athletics Showcase

October 26th, 2019 – October 27th, 2019

Dancers and cheerleaders take over LeConte Convention Center to display just how physically talented they are as professional athletes. Found in 1994, Premier Athletics trains thousands of kids throughout the southeast and the northeast. 

Halloween Trick or Treat at The Island

Parents can bring the kids to The Island for a whole lot of fun on Halloween Day! Enjoy $5 unlimited rides on the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, trick or treating and live bluegrass music throughout the evening on the Ole Smoky Stage. 

Gatlinburg Chili Cookoff

How does mouthwatering recipes of homemade chili sound? If your family varies in love of mild or spicy, no worries. There will be a variety of ranges when it comes to the spicyness of these recipes. Takes place from 5 – 8pm in Downtown Gatlinburg. 

Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland

November 15th, 2019 – January 5th, 2020

You will want to stop at the Smokies Stadium for an enjoyable experience with your family while visiting Pigeon Forge. No, not for a baseball game in the winter. But, for a driving tour of a Christmas light show. Additional attractions too!

Dollywood’s Smoky Mtn Christmas

Named the Best Christmas Event at any theme park worldwide for more than a decade, Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas presented by Humana provides the perfect holiday atmosphere to put families into the Christmas spirit.

30th Annual Smoky Mountain Winterfest

November 22nd, 2019 – February 17th, 2020

Visiting the Smokies during this time of year is absolutely magical! Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg all work together to create a wonderland of twinkling lights, driving tours and fun photo opportunities. Over 5 million lights are displayed!

Hearts on Fire

Nov 22nd, 2019 – Nov 23rd, 2019

Hearts on Fire is a youth evangelism conference that takes place at LeConte Convention Center. Over 16,000 attendees are expected to be in town. This year Matthew West, Rend Collective and Louie Giglio are some of the featured singers and speakers. 

The Island Tree Lighting

November 23rd, 2019

Join Paula Deen at 6pm at The Island as she does the special task of lighting the Christmas Tree. 

 

 

Titanic Thanksgiving Fireworks

November 28th, 2019

Join the festivities on the evening of Thanksgiving at the Titanic Museum! Fireworks will begin 7pm. It is a great holiday tradition for the Titanic to kick-off the holiday season here in town. There will also be a special tribute to all that were on the RMS Titanic. 

Gatlinburg Festival of Trees

If you love all things Christmas, the place to be is the WL Mills Conference Center in late November. Not only will there be a lot of beautifully decorated Christmas trees and wreaths, but they will also have an area for kids crafts, a play area and more!

Winter Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales

November 29th, 2019 – December 21st, 2019

If you are visiting the Pigeon Forge area during this time frame, you will likely see a variety of characters, storytellers and musicians along the Parkway in Downtown Gatlinburg on Friday and Saturday evenings. Free Christmas Entertainment!

Townsend Christmas Parade

December 1st, 2019

Join in on the fun of the season with the Townsend Christmas Parade. The parade will begin at IGA and end at Nawger Nob Village. 

Christmas Arts & Crafts Festival

Pigeon Forge Winterfest Celebration

December 5th, 2019

Kick off the Pigeon Forge Winterfest at the Pigeon Forge Community Center. The Pigeon Forge High School Band will perform and Santa will be there!

Gatlinburg Christmas Parade

Resurrection Youth Conference

This annual event welcomes over 12,000 youth as they come together in Pigeon Forge to celebrate God through the Resurrection. Recognized speakers and musicians will take stage as well to inspire the youth.

26th Annual Mountain Quiltfest

March 4th, 2020 – March 7th, 2020

Quilters from all over the world gather at LeConte Center for this quilting event. Quilters have the opportunity to take classes based on skill. Visitors can views hundreds of quilts on display during this free event.

Spring Rod Run 2020

April 16th, 2020 – April 18th, 2020

Grat 2 day event for any car enthusiast! Cash prizes are at stake! It is the area’s largest automotive event. This takes place at the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge.

Shades of the Past 2020

The 38th Annual Shades of the Past Hot Rod will bring in over 2,300 hot rods from all over the country as they compete to win grand prizes.  

Fall Rod Run 2020

National Quartet Convention 2020
