We know that keeping those places on the do not tell list is what all us locals want to do, but we’ve decided to let the secrets come out. Lil Black Bear Cafe – Located on Teaster Lane, this cute and quaint spot is a favorite of ours if you’re looking for a quick breakfast or lunch. They have everything from delicious breakfast platters to tasty sandwiches and subs. The cinnamon rolls are to die for. Their side dishes are also incredible and you can just tell that everything is made with love there. The owners are sweet as pie and they make your experience a memorable one no matter how many times you’ve been there. Please add this one to your list, you won’t regret it!

Smokies Cuban Cafe – This local hot spot has actually been going through a complete renovation and they just announced that they’ll officially be opening their doors again on April 8th! This is the only restaurant of its kind in town and they’re serving up some seriously delicious and traditional cuban favorites. The service is always top notch as well. You get so much food at a great price, it’s a must visit.

Thai Basil – I bet you the name has already peaked your interest. If you’re looking for some of the best stir fry, curry, and more around, this is right where you want to be. They have an outstanding menu that will fill you right, so you’ll be able to leave with tasty leftovers for later! The prices are extremely fair for the amount of food you get. We hope you’ll try this one out (get the basil fried rice!) and let us know what you think.

Barley Station BBQ – You know this wouldn’t be a blog about the Smokies if we didn’t mention some mouth-watering barbecue! The locals have been raving nonstop about this place and it only opened last year. They serve bbq with a flare and that flare is their ancho guava sauce. I don’t think words could accurately describe just how good the food is. They also have amazing sandwiches and homemade side dishes like wasabi or mango slaw and plenty of other choices. We know you’ll keep coming back for more.

Bluff’s – If you’re craving things like burgers and wings, this locally owned shop has the best. Don’t believe us? Well, they were voted best wings in Sevierville for a reason! Choose from all different kinds of yummy sauces or even some of their dry seasonings. The burgers will have you talking about them for days to come. They have one of a kind choices like the Big Kahuna that has ham, grilled pineapple, and bacon with teriyaki sauce. You also don’t want to miss their Heart Stopper which is a patty with bacon stuffed between two grilled cheese sandwiches – yep, you heard us – TWO of them. They have even more to choose from, so this has to be at the top of your list.

J. Del’s Pizza – If you’re looking for real and authentic new york and chicago style pizza, we’ve found your new destination. This locally owned parlor is serving up some of the best pies around and they’re doing it with a smile every single day. They are always fresh and hot and we probably order from this place once a week. Everyone in your party will ask to come here each time you visit.

Little House of Pancakes – We know you’ve been patiently waiting to hear about a place to get some good breakfast from. This cute spot offers incredible southern hospitality and an excellent menu featuring one of our favorite things – pancakes! Of course they have many other things including some lunch items, so everyone is sure to find something to munch on. If you’re visiting Gatlinburg, make sure to stop by here, we know you’ll love it.

Chubby’s Deli – This is another location to visit if you’re looking for a fantastic burger that is cooked to perfection. The Chubby’s Famous Burger is a must try! It has bacon, slow roasted bbq pork, grilled onions, and a bunch of cheddar cheese, it’s incredible. They also serve a good breakfast including sandwiches and they have great lunch specials from Monday through Friday. If you’re a fan of crinkle cut fries, they serve those as well. This is a great place to visit if you’re looking for a quick yet wonderful meal. Local tip: they only accept cash.

Ski Mountain Pizza – This one is located in Gatlinburg and it’s a must try if you’re craving pizza. They have superb new york style pies and other scrumptious meals like wings, sandwiches, and more. Their stellar reviews speak volumes and the service you receive there just can’t be beat. If you happen to be staying on that mountain, they also deliver.

Pawpaw’s Catfish Kitchen – If you’re looking for something a little different, this New Orleans style restaurant will check off that box on your list. They serve incredible po boys, burgers, and catfish of course! There’s also a bunch of amazing new orleans inspired dishes like jambalaya and gumbo. Make sure to try out their boudin balls and alligator bites on their appetizers menu. This place is a slam dunk and a must try if you’re in the Wears Valley area.

Pollo Loco – If you’re craving mexican food, the locals will all tell you there’s no better place to go. From quesadillas to pollo bowls, they have all your favorites and more. Their guacamole is homemade and one of the best parts about going here. There’s a reason why there’s always lines when you arrive. The food is delicious and it’s one the family won’t stop talking about.
